Responsibilities | |||||||
- Screen all personnel, packages and vehicles entering the UN Complex to ensure authorized access; - Provide continuous coverage of cameras, telephone and radio communications systems and associated recording units in the Control Centre; - Maintain logs and rosters and initiate chronological logs of events during emergency situations; - Prepare daily and weekly work schedules and various periodic reports; - Provide information and directions to all persons associated with the organization; - Control pedestrian and vehicular traffic; - Be alert for any potential or actual breaches of security and any disturbances or unusual activity and report these immediately; - Ensure that all UN property being carried from the complex is checked for appropriate documentation; - Supervise subordinates including locally contracted security guard force - Conduct patrols of the perimeter and designated areas - Assists Team leader in the conduct of minor investigations - Liaises with the local security agencies under the direct supervision of the Team Leaders - Candidate must possess a valid driving license | |||||||

Education | |||||||
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in a recognized security unit (police, gendarmerie, armed forces, United Nations Security and/or equivalent) is required. Must have passed the United Nations Security Officer Test (SOT) at Headquarters or an equivalent locally-administered test at Offices Away. | |||||||
Work Experience | |||||||
At least four (04) years of experience in security operations, including in civilian police force, military police, or other relevant military operations, which of two years preferably in the United Nations. | |||||||
Languages | |||||||
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations International Tribunal for Rwanda. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. | |||||||
