CHAMPION Project (Channeling Men’s Positive Involvement in a National HIV/AIDS Response) Project which seeks to increase positive male involvement in HIV and reproductive health,is funded by USAID and led by EngenderHealth. The project is implemented in ten regions throughout Tanzania, with the main office located in Dar es Salaam. EngenderHealth is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill in the position of Finance and Administration Intern for its CHAMPION Project based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This position is open to Tanzania national candidates only. This position is a six months non-renewable internship position intended to provide practical orientation in Finance and Administration issues to fresh graduates.
Specific Responsibilities:
§ Assist finance and operations department in financial management
§ Assist finance and operations department in accounting duties
§ Provide required support for smooth completion of internal and external audit
§ Assist in the management of filling of accounting documents and records
§ Assist in generating month-end reports, including but not limited to bank reconciliation, Statement of Compressive Income, Statement of Financial Position, Cash flow statement, outstanding advance report
§ Work with finance & operations department to support process cycle, from initiation of a transaction, its recording, posting, and review
§ Assist in reinforcement of internal controls functions by ensuring timely reconciliation, adequate segregation of duties, physical verification of assets/inventories,
§ Assisting in preparation of accounting and administrative schedules and reports for year
§ Assist in stock taking of assets
§ Participation in the compliance team
Qualifications and skills
§ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
§ Progress toward a master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance is an added advantage
§ Work experience, if any, would be an added advantage
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Spreadsheet, Word and Outlook)
§ Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili
§ Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
§ A personal and professional commitment to gender equality
