As the Talents Manager, the holder leads the design and implementation of an effective Talents Managemnent System that ensures a rapid deployment of staff during emergiencies, career pathing and succession planning for Food Programming Staff within World Vision. In addition this position identifies and supports the development of high potential employees and thereby reduce voluntary turnover.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- During deployments, and in association with the Response Manager ensure food emergency assesments are carried out and intergrated food assistance projects designed and implemented. The EFPA is also expected to lead the negotiations with donors and other partners on behalf of WV and ensure timely conclusion of the food project agreements.
- Ensure proper implementation and management of the Emergency Food Assistance through ongoing surveillance of the developing humanitarian situation, establishement of Compliance Management Systems, egagement with Donors and other partners, utilisation of Commodity Tracking Systems, identification of audits risks in a timely manner and adherence to other international standards (SPHERE standards, HAP, DNH, PDMs).
- In collaboration with other collegues in FPMG, guide the identification of the FRRT members and ensure that they are briefed, trained and appraised to ensure regular feedback and mentoring is provided on individual performance.
- Ensure that human resource implications for both existing and anticipated emergency response staff are fully assessed, identified and communicated. This will be achieved through: implementation of the FPMG's Talents Management System, development of training materials for FRRT and conducting actual training for Food response teams at the NOs.
- In consultation with the FPMG collegues and National Office leadership teams, ensure the monitoring of the talent pipeline, recommend staff movement/promotion and enhance succession planning and career growth. In addition, this position is expected to work closely with the International Staffing and Diversity Team, to ensure that the Food Programming Roster is in place to enhance an early warning recruitment processes.
- At strategic level represent FPMG in engagement with the HEA/GRR and proactively seek for opportunities to expand outreach to the more deedy and vulnerable communities. This also includes working with respective Suppport Offices and key Food Aid Donors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Required a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in social science or related field. An Postgraduate degree would be an added advantage
Formal training in Food Programming and related systems is preferred - Training in Community Mobilisation skills, Training of Trainers/Facilitators strongly recommended. A minimum of 50% travel required.
