MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carry out general work place inspections.
• Carry out work environment measurements (heat/cold stress, noise, light, dust, gases, fumes, aerosol, mist, vapour, radiation, indoor/air quality, ventilation, efficiency etc.).
• Prepare monthly and annual reports.
• Conduct environmental control training to workers and management of the inspected workplace.
• Operate and maintain work environment measuring equipment.
• Compile monthly and annual reports.
• Provide input for and conduct environmental control surveys and researches.
• Provide inputs during the preparation of Business plan, Strategic plan and annual budget.
• Prepare articles on and environmental control matters.
• Recognize, evaluate and control workplace hazards.
• Provide inputs to Public Relations Office on environmental control issues which will be delivered to management, media, Government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Interpret scientific data collected during investigations and recommend appropriate control methods. {
• Operate technical equipment for obtaining samples.
• Conduct follow up inspections to ensure corrective measure have been implemented to all inspected workplaces.
• Review documents from stakeholders.
• Review existing and current Occupational safety and health literatures.
• Prepare citations, propose penalties, and determine schedule for identified violations.
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health Sciences or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Three (3) years' experience in industrial hygiene inspection related field.
Salary Scale: OSHA-Scale 6
