A roster of suitable candidates will be established for this particular profile as a result of this selection process for both fixed-term established and general temporary assistance posts.
Duties & Responsibilities
Under the guidance and control of the Security Sergeant, Security Officers:
1. Ensure the delivery of security services to meet organizational security requirements at the ICC Headquarters in relation to Court Security or Building Security operations.
2. Provide a professional protection force securing the seat of the Court.
3. Control access and egress to ICC premises in accordance with approved policies.
4. Ensure the safe custody of all detained persons whilst at Court or elsewhere within the ICC premises.
5. Operate the ICC Security Control Centre, including monitoring of an extensive CCTV, communications, fire prevention and alarm systems surveillance system.
6. Secure and escort VIP's, sensitive witnesses and other personnel whilst in the premises.
7. Provide an emergency response capability within the ICC premises.
8. Maintain all necessary records to ensure the effective functioning of the Section.
9. Submit detailed investigation reports on security related incidents.
10. Complete and pass all specified induction, refresher and other specialist training.
11. Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Qualifications
1. Completion of secondary education.
2. At least two years of military/police service.
3. Professional knowledge of security and safety procedures would be an advantage.
4. Must be physically fit.
5. Professional experience in the safe custody of detained persons would be an advantage.
6. Must be able to comply with the deportment and conduct requirements of a high profile, disciplined,
uniformed service.
7. Must be free from criminal convictions, of good character and able to successfully meet applicable organisational minimum standards in relation to both medical clearance and background screening as a condition of employment.
8. Must be able to successfully complete all mandatory induction training and continual re-certification requirements. During the probationary period all mandatory training requirements must be achieved. Subsequent appointment extensions are subject to the successful completion of the required training in compliance with the applicable conditions.
9. Must have previous experience in the safe handling of personal firearms.
10. Must be able to work within a 24 hour coverage shift system inclusive of night and weekend duties when required.
11. Must be in possession of a valid Driving Licence issued by a national authority to a minimum requirement of EU Group B (Car / 4x4 / Minibus).
KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGES
Fluency in either of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is essential. Working knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) would be considered an asset.
