SENIOR COMMUNITY MANAGER, CIVIL SOCIETY COMMUNITY
GLOBAL LEADERSHIP FELLOW
The mission of this role is to identify and engage a range of global and regional leaders from the world’s most influential NGOs, labour and faith organizations, and to effectively integrate them into the relevant events, projects and other activities of the World Economic Forum. The role sits within the Constituents Team that manages the Forum’s work with NGOs, labour leaders and the faith community.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing top-level relationships with over 50 NGOs and labour organizations at the global level, and engaging them with the Forum’s work.
• Taking an account planning approach to identify, prioritize and deliver opportunities for collaboration, including events, projects and other activities.
• Identifying and developing relationships with strong leaders and organizations at the regional and national level for integration into the Forum’s relevant regional activities.
• Supporting the Forum’s engagement with other constituents, including faith leaders.
• Managing all aspects of participation of members of the NGO and labour community (global and/or regional) in Forum events, including but not limited to: selecting participants according to clearly defined criteria, gathering content input for programme development, developing the participants’ agenda, hosting briefing calls and providing onsite support (in person or remotely).
• Identifying the priorities of the NGO and labour community through a twice-annual consultation process and, through internal collaboration, developing opportunities to integrate these priorities into Forum initiatives and projects, Global Agenda Councils, the Annual Meeting and Regional Summits.
• Supporting the work of the Global Agenda Council on the role of civil society. This entails working closely with the Global Agenda Council team to ensure the smooth running of the Global Agenda Council, hosting virtual meetings, and supporting the creation of any documents or other projects produced by this Council.
• Contributing to other team projects as requested.
You have a master’s degree in social sciences, development, ethics or other relevant field. You have 5 years’ professional experience, ideally in more than one sector, with proven expertise in account management and relationship building, preferably in environments requiring collaboration across multiple parts of an organization.
You possess in-depth knowledge of and direct experience in working with or engaging the non-profit sector and regional/global NGOs. Experience working with or engaging labour and faith organizations would be a plus.
You have excellent communication skills in English and at least one other of the following languages: French, Spanish or Mandarin; other languages would be a plus.
You are able to engage in a neutral and sensitive manner with senior leaders across diverse types of organizations, from different cultural and faith backgrounds. You have experience in influencing internal and external stakeholders in non-hierarchical contexts to produce excellent results in both stakeholder engagement and content development.
