Nature and Scope
The Managing Director is the Chief Executive of the bark responsible for the day-to-day management of the bank, He/ She will be responsible for provision' of a dynamic and strategic leadership, vision and direction of the bank, ensuring appropriate outreach and profitability while providing high-quality services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, oversee effective and efficient implementation of the bank's short, medium and long term plans, and enforcement of relevant legislations, rules and regulations pertaining to a Commercial Bank,
Provide direction and leadership towards achievement of the bank's Vision, Mission, and Strategic Strategies, Objectives and Deliverables.
Oversee the designing, promotion and delivery of quality products and services by the bank.
Manage the bank in line with the Bank of Tanzania Act, the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, its regulations and Memorandum and Articles of Association;
Prudently manage utilization of the bank's resources within approved budget, guidelines, policies, laws and regulations.
Ensure that the bank consistently presents strong and positive image to stakeholders and the general public.
Advise and inform the Board on progress made in implementing operational activities of the bank.
Establish, implement and enforce a robust bank-wide risk management framework and systems (policies, processes and tools) covering operational risk, market risk, credit risk and other risks.
Coordinate the activities of all departments and operating units of the bank so as to maintain satisfactory progress towards approved objectives. .
Establish standards for evaluating the progress of the bank and each of its components towards its approved objectives.
Carry out other related duties as may be assigned by the Board from time to time.
Functional and Technical Competencies
A successful candidate must possess among others, the following competencies:
High degree of skills, expertise, integrity and stature
Proven leadership and business management skills;
Able to integrate macro and micro economic policies into the bank's strategies, policies and procedures; Strong financial management skills;
Able to devise and supervise implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of Strategic Plans, other such plans, Vision and Mission and other resources; Strong public image and lobbying skills;
Thorough understanding of macro-economic policies, strategies and national development agenda;
Knowledge of the complexities of socio-economic development, risk analysis and forecasting.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Holder of a Master's Degree or Postgraduate qualifications in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related disciplines from recognized university or institution.
Minimum of fifteen (15) years' work experience; eight (8) years of which must be in senior management position in a banking industry or at a reputable financial institution;
Knowledge and familiarity with Commercial Banking with a proven success record in the implementation of standard commercial banking operations;
Leadership, motivation and people management skills;
Customer oriented, team player with strong interpersonal skills; and
Must be computer literate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate all branch activities through Branch Managers within the country and ensure banking services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Effectively coordinate and administer all resources allocated to the delivery of branch services, including offering technical and operational support to staff members as required.
Ensure the efficient delivery of foreign exchange and treasury deposit services at the bank's branches.
Ensure the effective handling of payments, the processing and sending out of customer statements and handling of related queries.
Ensure the effective handling of all foreign trade related documents passing through the branches.
Prepare and produce periodic and regular reports on the service delivery of all branches.
Administer and Monitor cash requirements/position for all branches prudently in line with their business requirements.
Maintain good working relationships with other directorates, departments and units as well as external stakeholders. Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Managing Director from time to time.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Holder of a Master's Degree/Postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, Accountancy or related discipline from recognized institution/ university.
At least eight (8) years working experience of which four (4) must be in managerial level in related field.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Computer literate.
