To realize the vision of Ethiopia’s Growth and Transformation Plan, and the role that a growing and dynamic private sector can play in its achievement, the Ministry of Urban Development and Construction and the Federal Micro and Small Enterprises Development Agency (FeMSEDA), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ethiopia, launched the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP)in February 2013 to foster the emergence of a robust and competitive private sector through development micro and small scale business sectors. The program will establish the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC), a semi-autonomous organization which will spearhead the implementation of innovative entrepreneurship skills training and provision of customized business development services to new and existing MSEs in the country.
To date, the EDC in Addis Ababa was established and started providing Entrepreneurship Training Workshops, Training of Trainers and Business Development Service Advisors' Training.
Scope of Work (SoW)
Under the direct supervision of the Federal Micro and Small Enterprise Agency (FeMSEDA) and in close coordination with UNDP Ethiopia Country Office, the incumbent will perform a role of national project coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) to ensure the smooth and timely project implementation in accordance with the Annual Work Plan, and be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC).

Duties and Responsibilities
|
Duties and responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer of the EDC will include the following but not limited to:
- Strategic management of the Entrepreneurship Development Center Headquarters in Addis Ababa and 5 Entrepreneurship Development Center regional offices, and exerting executive oversight of personnel, budgets, services provided by the Centers, and the expected overall results;
- Efficient planning and organization of entrepreneurship and other business development programs;
- Planning and implementation of a comprehensive business development support services to MSEs;
- Provision of strategic guidance and support to participating entrepreneurs in the establishment of voluntary network/associations and to cooperate with them on their training and information activities;
- Development of a robust resource mobilization strategy that can sustain the initiative beyond its initial stage; and
- Perform any other duties as requested.

Required Skills and Experience
|
Academic Qualification:
- A Master’s degree in economics, social sciences, international relations, development studies, business or related field.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in the public, private, or development sector particularly;
- Experience in donor partnerships and/or coordination and resource mobilization;
- Prior experience on UNDP program/ project management is an asset.
Language:
- Excellent writing and spoken English and Amharic.
