The objective is to supervise the preventive, corrective and unplanned maintenance/repairs to the mobile equipment fleet, and ensuring staff comply with all company procedures, laid down rules, regulations and safety standards while maintaining the Barrick Core Value and attaining to the best industry standards.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Oversee equipment and components repair/overhaul in accordance with company policies, procedures, O.E.M guidelines and best industry practice
• Identify and analyze premature component/equipment failure utilizing root cause/tap root analysis
• Complete required testing and safety checks on specified equipment as required
• Assist on the budgeting and control of maintenance costs
• Assist if required, to breakdowns and complete all necessary fault findings in a safe and diligent manner
• Ensure adherence to all safety, health and environmental procedures and guidelines.
• Implementation and execution of all tasks and instructions.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS, WORK KNOWLEDGE & EXPOSURE
• Completion of a structured, recognized mechanical apprenticeship
• A mechanical Trade Certificate from a recognized and authorized body (FTC)
• Experience as a Mobile Maintenance artisan, in a production industry environment
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Offices Suite)
• Experience of underground mobile mining equipment & operations
• Minimum of five (5) years pots apprentice experience.
