The objective is to conduct preventive, corrective and unplanned repairs to the mobile equipment fleet, and comply with all company procedure
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Overhaul equipment and components in accordance with company policies, procedures, O.E.M guidelines and best industry practices
• Identify and analyse premature components/equipment failure utilizing root cause/tap root analysis
• Complete required testing and safety checks on specified equipment as required
• Attend to breakdowns and complete all necessary fault finding in a safe and diligent manner
• Comply with all statutory and legislative requirements
• Ensure adherence to all safety, health and environmental procedures and guidelines
• Provide appropriate on the job training and mentoring to less experience personnel
• Demonstrate by example a high level of housekeeping and environmental awareness with an emphasis on hydrocarbon disposal and management
• Implementation and execution of all tasks and instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Completion of a structured, recognized mechanical apprenticeship
• A mechanical Trade Certificate from a recognized and authorized body (FTC)
• Complete understanding of diesel engine construction, maintenance and operation
• Conversant with torgue converter and multi clutch transmission systems and their control
• Conversant with hydraulic system construction and operation
• Knowledge in Auto electrical starter and charging circuits
• Experience as a mobile maintenance artisan in a production industry environment
• Experience of underground mobile mining equipment and operations
