Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement working to end human rights violations. The variety and global scope of our campaigns mean coordination and communication are vital in aligning all our activities. As our Campaign Planning Coordinator, you will use your expertise to get involved in strategic campaign planning across the full breadth of AI’s work.
About the role
Our Campaign Programming Unit supports the delivery of our global campaigns by helping to increase campaign effectiveness across AI. The Campaign Planning Coordinator will advise and support the team by gathering information to develop AI’s campaigns calendar, ensuring it is aligned with AI’s priorities, and from there communicating that calendar to help a wide range of teams deliver those priorities. You’ll act as a point of contact for campaign teams, coordinate activities of the Unit, and gather and communicate information. To do that, you’ll maintain an overview of all campaigns and provide advice and guidance to campaigners to support the effective programming of initiatives. You’ll also make recommendations to the Campaigns Programmer and the Campaigns Programme Director to support decision-making in the event of competing priorities.
About you
Most importantly, you’ll have project management or strategic planning experience. You’ll also need a thorough understanding of the principles for successful campaign strategy development and implementation across a global organization like Amnesty International. With experience of scheduling, planning and managing several projects simultaneously, you’ll be able to work with a wide range of stakeholders across an array of activities. Communication and interpersonal skills will be vital, as will experience of working collaboratively and of facilitating project teams with diverse interests to meet specific, timetabled, objectives.
About us
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of over three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
