Scholarship Program Director

Primary Goals and Responsibilities

The Scholarship Program Director of TFFT – Tanzania has the goal and responsibility to oversee all things programmatic and ensure that they are running efficiently and effectively. The Scholarship PD will be responsible for fulfilling the needs of TFFT scholarship recipients throughout the entire year as well as holding all counterparts (Partner schools, Tanzanian suppliers, Doctors Offices, ect) working together on program accountable for the highest possible success.

• Ensure that Scholarship Program is meeting goals of maintaining and monitoring the children’s material needs, medical needs, social development, and overall well being.
• Adhere to a detailed budget for complete needs of the Scholarship children
• Hold appropriate individuals working on or with our programs accountable to ensure that goals are met and the children are happy, healthy, and well taken care of.
• Monitor, review, and evaluate the Scholarship Program’s effectiveness, including but not limited to the material and medical needs, social development, and well being of the children. Provide direction and guidance where necessary to MD to ensure our program is reaching the needs of these children in an effective and efficient manner.
• Host meetings with kids at least once a term to discuss issues that relate to their wellbeing
• Work with a counselor to meet kid’s emotional needs
• Ensure that all program work can be transitioned to incoming PD upon your departure.

Qualifications, and Experience Required

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree holder in social work, Psychology or related fields (master’s degree a plus)
• In-depth knowledge about programs for children/youth
• Leadership qualities, strong ability to coordinate, inspire and motivate
• Effective communication skills (oral and written) in English and Kiswahili
• Knowledge and understanding of Tanzanian culture
• Ability and commitment to work collaboratively with/in a team
• Clean criminal background indicating fitness to work with children
• Must be a Tanzanian
