PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The incumbent is accountable for the shift dispatch control and monitoring, interacting with the dispatchers as well as the operational mining management throughout the day. Ensuring that the real time data generated by the FMS is accurate and providing the latest information available to ensure operational optimization and improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Recognized tertiary qualification.
- Must have at least 2 years experience in operation of Fleet Management Systems.
- Understanding of mining operation in order to make decisions regarding prioritization.
- Knowledge of computer programming and SQL database management skills.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Emotional intelligence.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Adequately matured as a person with both leadership skills and interpersonal skills to influence people and the business.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND AUTHORITIES OF THE ROLE:
This incumbent would be accountable for the following:
- Supervision, mentoring and training dispatchers.
- Accountable for data accuracy and integrity of the real time data of the FMS.
- Ensuring the wireless network and dispatch systems have 100% coverage and are operating optimally at all times.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving for both operational and maintenance issues.
- Communication with operational management and maintenance of staff to manage the mine in real time he needs to optimize the system all the time.
- Ensuring that road networks in the FMS fully operational - no down time.
- Compilation of relevant data for operational monitoring and improvement.
- Demonstrate high level communication with all departments and commitment to continuously improving current procedures.
- Accountable for operation safety, efficient utilization of resources and continuous improvement initiatives.

FMS Manager
REMUNERATION:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a 2 year expatriate contract, which may be renewed, regular leave breaks will apply. The successful candidate would be offered a US dollar based salary.
