About this Job:	Background The National Curriculum Development Centre is a corporate body under the Ministry of Education and Sports .It is responsible for inter alia development of materials for various levels of education (i.e. pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), organizing capacity building courses for stakeholders on curricula and matters related to curriculum. SPECIALIST CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT (one (1) post} A) BTVET DEPARTMENT Curriculum Specialist/Assistant Curriculum Specialist Construction Engineering Age : 30 – 45 years Salary Scale: CD 5 or CD 6 depending on the Responsible to: HEAD OF DEPARTMENT BTVET Main purpose of the job To develop curricular and Curriculum related materials. (i) Initiates and develops ideas on curriculum reforms. (ii) Develops and prepares subject syllabi, teachers’ manuals, texts and other related curriculum materials. (iii) Organizes and conducts writing workshops. (iv) Writes, coordinates and edits curriculum units developed by the panel and other teachers. (v) Organizes and conducts orientation courses for teachers. (vi) Popularizes education in the relevant subject. (vii) Services the subject panel by planning and convening meetings, preparing working papers and furnishing the necessary data and relevant research reports. (viii) Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirement:	Qualifications: Should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Teacher education (BITE) with a minimum of a Diploma in Civil or Water or Architectural Engineering or bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a certificate or diploma in education. Applicants with a Masters degree in the related field will have an added advantage. Experience: At least 5 years teaching experience in a technical institution or other institution of higher learning
