At least 2 years experiences on the field in developing countries, preferably in Africa Demonstrated experience in management of project, in water and sanitation in emergency context Demonstrated experience in provision of safe water supply (wells constructions and spring protection systems) Demonstrated experience in designing implementation and supervision of WASH facility construction(preparation of quotations for supplies and technical sketches) Demonstrated understanding of safe water supply, environmental health issues and hygiene promotion policies and procedures of governments, international NGO and donor agencies
Excellent planning and organizational skills Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office Communication skills with ability to work closely with CESVI local staff and the beneficiaries
Adaptability for hard living conditions
Excellent knowledge of French written and spoken

WORK CONTEXT CESVI works in Congo RDC since 2001, with the double commitment to assist the victims of the humanitarian crisis in the Eastern provinces and to support the health sector in Kinshasa. CESVI's main sectors of intervention in the East are rehabilitation of infrastructures, water and sanitation, education, and protection. Each project is coordinated by an expatriate staff. General coordination, logisitcs and administration is located in Bunia. In the Eastern Provinces Cesvi is implementing emergency and post emergency programmes in Haut and Bas Huélé.
The selected candidate will be in charge of improving WASH activities in the aerea of Faradje in an emergency context. This is a new area of implementation for CESVI who will be supported by international partner for the logistics and the base opening.
JOB DESCRIPTION The collaboration will start as soon as possible. The duty station will be Faradje in Ituri territory. The person will work under the supervision of the Project coordinator and in collaboration with the expatriate and the local staff of CESVI.
Main tasks: - S/he has overall responsibility on technical aspects, planning and execution of all construction and rehabilitation of water and sanitation facilities - S/he supervises and coordinates technical local staff attached to the project - S/he ensures adherence to relevant procedures of Donors and local government - S/He assists in all the procurement operations according to CESVI, Local Government and Donors rules in order to guarantee cost-efficient, appropriate , environmentally sound and qualitative procurement mechanisms - S/he ensures timely delivery of expected outputs and reports - S/he designs and delivers institutional support actions to counterparts - S/he Supports the Program Managers and all other CESVI staff in all WASH related questions and issues - S/he formulates calls for proposals, assess project proposals, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
