Treasury staff are organized into seven departments operating in the asset management, banking and debt management, and capital markets business segments. The Quantitative Strategies, Risk and Analytics Department in the World Bank’s Treasury is responsible for developing leading-edge solutions in the areas of strategic asset allocation, quantitative strategies and financial modeling, market analysis, portfolio analytics and risk measurement for the benefit of the three business segments. In addition to partnering with groups in Treasury, QRA maintains an extensive outreach program with external counterparts including investment banks, asset managers, and international institutions to exchange ideas, and enhance Treasury’s reputation in the field of asset allocation strategy, risk management and portfolio analytics.
QRA is organized in two functional clusters: 1) the Quantitative Strategies and Modeling (QS) team; and 2) the Risk and Analytics (RA) Team. QRA staff may work in multiple functional areas. This structure enables the Department to take advantage of synergies between the respective functions and provides a diversified work program for staff. While staff are assigned to either the QS or RA Team, they may be re-assigned at the discretion of QRA’s Management Team in response to business priorities.
This position description is for an Investment Officer whose principal responsibilities are expected to lie primarily in the risk management functional area in the Quantitative Strategies and Modeling Team. The QS Team is responsible for undertaking portfolio analysis (risk and performance attribution), and financial modeling projects primarily in the asset management and capital markets business lines. The Team also provides extensive technical assistance to partnering member countries, central banks and other official institutions.
