Purpose of the position:
To manage and supervise the implementation of food programs in various districts in Kenya.
The holder of this position is directly responsible for the commodity tracking and accountability systems as well as formulation and submission of food monthly reports like the CSR, RSR, LSR and the narrative reports of the FPMG and donors.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- A bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related fields
- A formal training in food aid and logistics
- Exposure to food aid programs in Africa
- At least 2 years experience in actual food aid projects
- Knowledge of lotus3W5 or Excel, WP61 or Word, fax and e-mail
- Ability to effectively develop rapport and relate to donors, NGOs, counterparts, and government agencies
- Must have the ability to travel and a flexible approach to living conditions.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Requires ability to write well and express ideas in a sensitive manner within the context of a humanitarian approach.
- Must have excellent presentation skills.
