The shareholders comprise African governments, African and non-African public and private institutions. The Bank is headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, with regional branches in Harare, Zimbabwe and Abuja, Nigeria.
Afreximbank is looking for intelligent, dynamic and committed individuals to fill the following vacancies:
SENIOR MANAGER, CORPORATE FINANCE & ADVISORY SERVICES: Reporting to the Executive Vice President (Business Development and Corporate Banking), the nature and scope of the job is to assist Management in the creation and operation of an appropriate investment banking and advisory services unit to support African entrepreneurs and governments in various trade and trade promotion facilitation activities. The scope of work includes various aspects of corporate advisory and investment banking services.
Job Requirements: In addition to at least 10 years of relevant corporate finance/investment banking experience in an international commercial environment, a good first degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related fields and a post graduate degree in the same fields from a reputable University are required. Candidates without a post graduate degree but with a relevant professional investment management, banking or accounting qualification (e.g. CFA, ACA, CPA) may apply. Good knowledge of the African corporate finance environment is essential.
SENIOR MANAGER, TREASURY SERVICES: Reporting to the Executive Vice President (Finance, Administration & Banking Services), the successful candidate will be Head of the Treasury Services Unit of the Bank that advises Management on all aspects of the Bank's treasury activities such as raising appropriate funding, managing treasury related market and operational risks, implementing funding plans, cash management etc.
Job Requirements: In addition to at least 10 years of relevant treasury management experience in an international environment, a good first degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related fields and a post graduate degree in the same, from a reputable University are required. Candidates without a post graduate degree but with a relevant professional treasurer or accounting qualification (e.g. AMCT, MCT, ACA, CPA) may be considered. Sound knowledge of the international treasury market and
its instruments is essential.
MANAGER, PROJECT & EXPORT DEVELOPMENT FINANCE: Reporting to the Director, Project & Export Development Finance, the job holder is expected to participate in drawing up annual business development plans in trade related project finance transactions and export development and to assist in implementing them accordingly. The job also involves developing bankable financing structures for a broad spectrum of clients from small to large corporates that are involved in trade-related project financing; compiling necessary information to facilitate credit approvals and managing the relationships involved in project implementation.
Job Requirements: In addition to at least 8 years of relevant project finance and or export development experience in an international commercial environment, a good first degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related fields and a post graduate degree in the same fields from a reputable University are required. Candidates without a post graduate degree but with a recognised professional qualification in Corporate Finance, International Trade Finance or Banking may be considered. Demonstrable experience in project management is essential.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, WEST AFRICA: Reporting to the Regional Manager, West Africa, the job holder is expected to participate in drawing up annual business development plans for the region in all aspects of origination including trade finance, corporate banking and export development programmes and to assist in the implementation of these plans with support from the Regional Manager. The job involves structuring complex trade finance deals across various sectors and for beneficiaries in various market segments. Strong skills in structured trade finance are essential.
Job Requirements: In addition to at least 8 years of relevant trade finance, project finance and/or export development experience in an international commercial environment, a good first degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related fields and a post graduate degree in the same fields from a reputable University are required. Candidates without a post graduate degree but with a recognised professional qualification in Corporate Finance, International Trade Finance or Banking may apply.
MANAGER, RESEARCH, PLANNING & INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: Reporting to the Director, Research, Planning & International Cooperation, the job holder is expected to provide support for the Bank's strategic planning, economic research analyses and international cooperation activities as well as the monitoring of these activities on an ongoing basis, along with the preparation of the Bank's various publications for public use. The job also involves preparing various sector and country reports as well as developing financial products for implementation by the Bank.
Job Requirements: In addition to at least 8 years of relevant economic research and strategic planning experience in an international commercial environment, a good first degree in Economics, Econometrics, applied Economics or other related fields and a post graduate degree(s) in the same fields from a reputable University are required. PhD holders in this area would have an added advantage.
GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must also be fluent in either English or French with a working knowledge of the other; while fluency in the Bank's other official languages (Arabic & Portuguese) will be an added advantage. Candidates must have demonstrable success working in a multicultural environment, while work experience with leading financial institutions in Africa will also be a distinct advantage.
LOCATION: Considering that the Bank's mandate covers the African continent with partnerships across the globe; candidates should be ready to work in a wide range of locations in and outside Africa.
