Geotechnical Technician

REQUIRED SKILLED KNOWLEDGE:

Qualification:
Diploma in Mining Engineering/ Geology or equivalent
Be willing to study to obtain the Chamber of Mines (South Africa) Strata Control Certificate

Knowledge & Experiences:

Must have working knowledge of RockScience software's (Dips, Unwedge, Phasell, RockFall and Slide) and MS Office suite of computer programs.
Mining and experience will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of any relevant geotechnical or mining design software is beneficial.
Must have practiced geotechnical engineering during and after obtaining formal education.
Knowledge of underground mapping and core logging techniques
Proficiency in mine design software, Deswik, Micromine.

Skills & Experience

Must have a valid Tanzania driving licence and able to drive a light vehicle in underground environment.
Must have sufficient communication skills.
Able to maintain accurate records and reports.
Ability to interpret mine layouts.

Physical fitness so as to e able to work in an underground mining environment
Work under minimal supervision.

High level of interpersonal skills.
