We are currently looking to hire Welfare Officer role, for our Tanzania business. This role will be
both office and field based and requires candidates with knowledge for the job. If you are looking

Job Position: UTT Welfare Officer (1 Posts)
Reports to: Welfare Manager
Location: Mufindi
Duties and responsibilities of the UTT Welfare Manager
1. Participate in the preparation of Unit welfare budgets & performance targets.
2. Responsible for cascading Company information related to welfare.
3. Co-ordinate training of employees on policies relating to human rights, counselling & work
standards.
4. Coach and mentor employees in their units with regards to welfare & human rights issues.
5. Participate in Maadili Committee meetings in respective units and departments with the
leadership team and rollout actions in the units as deemed fit.
6. Coordinate Maadili Committee agenda in respective units and departments and
communicate the same to Welfare Manager.
7. Participate in Housing Committee meetings in respective units and departments and
ensure implementation of actions in their units.
8. Facilitate counselling to employees in respective units and departments as may be
required.
9. Hold accountability for the upkeep of villages, schools, social halls in respective units and
departments etc.
10. Drive social campaigns, audit and report on welfare issues, human rights and other areas
as may be allocated by the LT/ Unit Management from time to time.
11. Promote access, treatment and conservation of water, electricity and other utilities in the
villages.
12. Participate in welfare related conflict resolution and escalation at unit level.
13. Facilitate the implementation of all company policies and procedures in the Department/
Unit.
Relevant Skills and Experience
1. Degree in Social Sciences eg. Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, Community
Development, Communication, Project Management, Psychology, Human Resources or any
other relevant degree.
2. Community sensitization and counseling skills will be an added advantage.
3. Computer literate.
4. At least two years relevant experience.
5. Good spoken/written English and Swahili languages
6. Good computer skills
7. Ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements
8. Flexibility with work hours depending upon business needs
