The Commonwealth has an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with at least ten years’ financial leadership and management experience to join our Finance and Management Information Section. You will have experience effectively managing payroll/pension and travel teams, as well as working with senior management to drive results.
You will support the Head of Finance in implementing Commonwealths strategies and policies particularly in relation to finance, internal controls, risk and audit. You will be responsible for the revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, pensions and the travel functions, ensuring accurate, reliable and timely processing of financial transactions. You will ensure adherence to the organisational, accounting and payroll timetables, assist with the timely and accurate production of draft Financial Statements and support the external and internal audit process as well as ensuring the timely implementation of recommendations. You will continuously improve/streamline processes as well as motivate and develop your staff to be a high performing team.
