Transmission
technician
Main duties
Uses transmission planning techniques to develop and test
new system plans, equipment and technological methods in a company’s operating
activities. The engineer also drafts, lays out and specifies technical devices,
machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities.
·
To monitor and control of head end and
transmitting station in order to operate at normal temperature and humidity.
·
To keep the operating conditions of the
equipments in the head end like receiver (preview 7100), multichannel encoder
(Electra 8140 SD AUC), prostream 1000 B.V and foxcom receiver.
·
To deal with dish setup uplink/downlink and
cabling up to the head end through foxcom transmitter which is in the uplink
stations.
·
To attend networking set up in transmitting
stations, call centre, customer care
offices and head end (control systems)
·
To ensure all electrical and networking
equipments are in good/proper conditions for operations purposes.
·
To assists customers in terms of installation
/set up of decoders and antennas connections.
·
To ensure all head end, transmitting,
broadcasting equipments and electrical are in good order.
·
To deal with transmitting, broadcasting and
multiplexing of signals from satellite (ASI), studio (SDI) and audio video (AV)
signals.
·
To attend several training according to policy
and plan of a company on new technology.
·
To develop, plan and make strategies concerning
multiplexing, broadcasting and transmission technology.
·
To ensure all head end, transmitting equipments
and electrical are in good order.
·
To ensure that electrical program guide (EPG)
for all channels is update in daily operations.
Qualification:
Diploma /full technician certificates in electrical
engineering and must have basics in information technology/ computer
networking.
