The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has an immediate job opening for a Technical Leader, Registry Services. The position is based in Washington D.C., or Singapore. Other locations may be considered for the ideal candidate. This is a senior position and a great opportunity with a role that blends technical acumen with project management working in close concert with stakeholder relations and with hands-on process definition and implementation activities.
The role will support a range of projects and activities in the gTLD Services area. It involves strong technical contributions in a number of cross-organizational projects such as delegating and operating new gTLD services, contract negotiations and compliance, operations, legal, policy definitions and implementation and internationalized domain names (IDNs), with a strong focus on ICANNs multi-stakeholder collaboration model. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly professional and dedicated team and to be involved at the forefront of the new gTLD deployments. This is a full time position reporting to vice president, DNS Industry Engagement and Services.
- Define and oversee the technical elements of the development of services from specification, planning, delivery and execution, and maintenance.
- Interface with other technical, operational, legal, policy, security and cross-functional teams to refine existing services.
- Contribute in the management of the life cycle of services provided by the gTLD Registry Services department.
- Create and provide regular metrics to manage, measure, and report progress to key stakeholders, management, and staff.
- Achieve functional consistency and accuracy through documented functional processes and procedures.
- Be an exceptional team player and comfortable in working in a highly diverse, multi-cultural environment.

- Strong oral and written communication skills in English with additional languages a plus.
- Broad and in-depth understanding of technical issues involving the Internet and DNS operations.

- Ability to travel as necessary
- BS degree or equivalent, MS or MBA preferred. Advanced degree in engineering or systems is highly desirable.
- 5+ years working in product/service management in the domain name industry with a heavy emphasize on the technical aspects of DNS operations.
