ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Working with senior members of the program team, the Project Manager will be responsible for a key Touch program. Reporting to the Country Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing and evaluating the development and implementation of our Mobilizing Maternal Health Program and supporting the implementation of our Treat & Train program. The Project Manager will also play a leadership role in knowledge development and dissemination for the organization.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Project Management
- Manage the implementation and evaluation of a major program, working in collaboration with management, in-country leadership and program funders
- Develop and refine program workplans in collaboration with program team and management to include detailed program implementation plan
- Oversee sub-contractors, vendors and other partners, ensuring that they deliver on agreed upon objectives within the agreed upon time frame and budget
- Prepare, manage and monitor program budgets
- Collaborate with program team to undertake effective monitoring and evaluation of the programs
- Conduct data analyses and prepare reports on program implementation progress and impact for management, donors or other stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with U.S., Tanzanian and all relevant regulations, donor requirements and organizational policies and procedures

- Maintain holistic and detailed understanding of program work as well as opportunities for expansion
- Contribute to suite of communication vehicles, including print and web-based articles, letters and other marketing materials
- Communicate regularly and effectively with all program partners
- Create special reports as necessary to reflect on-going program developments and achievements
- As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the Project Manager may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.
Qualifications of successful candidate
Knowledge, Education and Experience
- Masters or Doctorate degree in relevant field (e.g. MD, RN, MPH, international development or related fields); combined with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience in maternal health preferred
- Experience working in a developing country context
- Excellent experience in project/program management, with multiple stakeholders, preferably with USAID funded programs
- Strong experience in knowledge development and dissemination
- Experience in capturing results and overseeing reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems
- Good judgment and discretion to represent the Touch Foundation in a highly professional manner, as well as respect for local "culture."
- Experience working with donor regulations; information analysis and report writing
