Operations Manager (Power station /OCGT / Gas-fired power plant )

CA Global Power and Energy (Africa Careers) is currently sourcing on behalf of their client for an Operations Manager (Power station /OCGT / Gas-fired power plant ) – Tanzania

Overview: Directly responsible for all power plant operations and the operation of the pipeline, while developing and improving on existing systems and practices.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:will Supervise the operation team members to ensure that they perform all of the duties necessary to safely and efficiently operate the plant equipment, meet dispatch and availability requirements and complete all required reports.
Responsible for complete operation activities of the plant including, but not limited to, directing operations team for compliance with dispatch instructions from the client, operation routines, switching operations, planning and conducting annual capacity tests, monitoring of equipment, operating trends and taking initiative to prevent equipment trips and damage. 
Continue and improve the effectiveness of the testing programs for all plant equipment; defined outcome is to improve equipment reliability
Assist the Plant Manager in the preparation of departmental budgets and goals.

Desired Skills & Experience

Requirements: Qualifications and SkillsRelevant engineering degree / Qualification In-depth experience in operating a large power plant In-depth experience in the role of Operations manager
10 years’ experience working with gas turbine power plants
Experienced project manager with excellent leadership skills
Extensive knowledge of computerized maintenance management system

Contractual information:2 year contract
family status on offer
1 – 2 flights home per annum
