AMEX International is in search of a Natural Resources Management Expert to be included on a bid for the Southern African Rangeland Grazing Training Evaluation project. This is a short-term consultancy opportunity with AMEX and will be executed in South Africa over a period of four months. The project is for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
The successful candidate will work at the direction of the Team Leader to provide technical assistance to the task order. S/he will assess the technical merits of the USAID/OFDA grazing management training programs in southern Africa. S/he should have experience with livestock husbandry, grass land management, plant species and soil types in the region and soil hydrology in Southern Africa.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a technical field related to Natural Resource Management, especially related to livestock grazing and rangeland management in Africa.
Must have at least 10 years of work experience in the implementation and/or evaluation of livestock grazing and nutrition programs similar to those being evaluated in southern Africa.
Experience working with USAID/OFDA’s partners and USAID/OFDA is preferred.
