Deputy Project Manager/Sr. Analyst for USAID FFP Contract

AMEX International, Inc., an international consulting firm, seeks a Deputy Project Manager/Senior Analyst for a contract to support the Food for Peace (FFP) Office of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) through June 2014. This full-time position is located in downtown Washington, DC.

 

The USAID FFP office makes available emergency and development food aid resources to private voluntary organizations, international organizations—especially the World Food Program—and foreign governments to address food needs and insecurity resulting from both short-term emergencies and longer term development problems in food-deficit countries.

 

The Deputy Project Manager (DPM)/Senior Analyst on our contract will assist in the planning, management and administration of Foreign Assistance and PL 480, Food Aid grants and cooperative agreements. The DPM will also assist the AMEX FFP Project Manager in the oversight and direction of a 20-person professional and administrative staff who have a wide variety of responsibilities. Basic background MUST include: Bachelor’s degree plus 5-10 years’ project management experience, or 10+ years’ high-level experience in food aid and/or private and voluntary organization programming; 10+ years’ experience in international related programs; and 5 years’ experience living and working overseas; demonstrated ability in planning and programming; excellent research and writing skills; familiarity with word processing and other office related computer software systems; and excellent interpersonal skills.

 

U.S. citizenship is required for this position, in order to obtain a SECRET clearance.
