1.   POSITION:  PROGRAM OFFICER-1 Position

Agenda Participation 2000 (AP2000) is looking for a competent  Program Officer to join AP2000′s  expanding Governance and Anti Corruption portfolio. The candidate we are looking for will be someone with excllent writing , analytical skills and editorial skills. The candidate should be very fluent in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili. Ability to undertake  independent investigative and evidence based research and interested in advocacy. Should have some  knowledge about applied IT applications, creativity and ability to use IT generated information to meet Governance needs. Should be willing to work independently with minimum supervision.

 Location: Dar es Salaam

Responsibilities:

• Developing and managing projects and programs
• Organising and facilitating trainings and public dialogues at national and local level on corruption and good governance
• Organising trainings and building capacities of AP2000’s network of CSOs, CBOs, Youth Groups and Local Government Officials
• Preparing reports to AP2000’s Managers and back donors
•  Writing and editing investigative articles and reports for the Corruption Tracker Online system and AP2000 websites and contribution of Articles to AP2000’s  sponsored ‘Katiba Review’ weekly column  in The  Sunday Citizen
• Performing other related duties as assigned by responsible  program line manager

 Qualifications /Competencies

 At least a Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrated analytical writing and investigative/research skills. A postgraduate qualification in development, governance or media related field will be an added advantage. Previous experience with a media organisation will be given more consideration.

 Experience

 At least 2 years experience working in civil society or media as a program officer, journalist or editor. Similar experience in a senior managerial position will be an added advantage

2. Recruitment of   IT Officer cum Website Manager-1 Position

Agenda Participation 2000 (AP2000) is looking for a competent IT Officer to manage AP2000′s  expanding IT portfolio. The candidate we are looking for will be someone with excllent knowledge about applied IT applications, creativity and ability to customise IT applications to meet Governance needs. Our needs go beyond repairing computers and installing LAN systems. We are using ‘IT for Governance’ as a driving concept for all our IT requirements and applications.  This for example involves using  IT to monitor  governance, policy engagement and accountability.

  Key Responsibilities

•    Managing and updating AP2000’s website and other related sites
• Managing and updating the Tanzania Corruption Tracker’s Online System and its support systems
• Managing AP2000’s  IT requirements and  developing new systems to suit AP2000’s technological needs
• Performance any other IT related tasks as assigned by the Management

 Qualifications/Competencies

 At least   candidate should posses a Bachelors Degree in IT, Computer Science or Website Management or Multimedia applications. Demonstrated Experience in developing and managing website is a MUST. Candidates with diploma qualifications from recognized institutions may be considered for the job based on experience and demonstrated previous work

 Working Experience

 At least 2 years experience working as a website developer and manager and demonstrated experience with online crowd sourcing and newsletter applications.  The ideal candidate we are looking should  have a good understanding of governance and corruption issues and their linkage to development.  The candidate should  have  excellent knowledge of the current national and international debates on governance and corruption.Familiarity with Internet based projects and knowledge of online based operations and publications. Knowledge of media operations and evaluating media content, readership, impact etc, will be an added advantage
