AUA invites applications and nominations for the position of University Registrar. AUA is a privately endowed, independent American institution of higher education in the Republic of Armenia that is affiliated with the University of California. AUA is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Responsibilities: This position reports to the Provost and is responsible for the supervision of the registration of students, admission applications, including the provision of information to applicants, the processing of acceptance and denial letters, the maintenance and development of a detailed database of all applicants, and the maintenance of all student records; scheduling of classes and exams, and developing the academic calendar of the University; maintenance and publication of the University catalog, and production of various program brochures and announcements in cooperation with the Director of Admissions and Recruitment. The position works to improve and expand the computerized student information system while ensuring its privacy; supervises the tuition assistance programs of the University, and ensures that all processes are conducted in a fair manner; supervises the activities of the Student Council and ensures that all students are informed about University policies and procedures; advises and informs Deans of academic policies and procedures, and supervises staff working in the Office of the Registrar.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree plus seven to ten years of higher education experience and at least five years of related supervisory experience is required. Previous experience in an international setting and knowledge of Armenia, NIS countries and the Middle East is preferred but not required.
The successful candidate must possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills; a spirit of collaboration and cooperation; excellent leadership and team building abilities; strong organizational and critical thinking skills; a track record of consistent and outstanding performance in the student records profession; extensive experience in maintaining and enhancing student information systems; experience using data-driven decision making methods; a commitment to a student-centered campus environment.
English proficiency and good writing skills is essential. Armenian language proficiency would be a plus.
Requirements: This full-time position requires the incumbent to reside in Armenia.
