Position Summary: The Stabilization Advisor is responsible for situational awareness, trend analysis, ensuring that programming reflects best practices and lessons learned in the field of stabilization and conflict mitigation, and coordinates with other stabilization actors in South Sudan. This is a full-time SSTCM II position based in South Sudan.
Responsibilities: • The Stabilization Advisor shall provide intellectual leadership and technical expertise in the development area of transition programming and conflict mitigation/management; • Advise on strategic direction of program portfolio based on informed and contextualized analysis of conflict drivers, patterns in conflict emergence and mitigation, effective mechanisms for addressing conflict dynamics at the community, state and national levels in South Sudan; • Manage research and assessment efforts to ensure utilization of best development practices in conflict and transitional environments and better understanding of needs in the context of South Sudan; and • Recommend programming objectives and identifying staff and administrative resources necessary to achieve those objectives.
Qualifications: • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working on related programming in fluid, politically sensitive conflict and post-conflict environments; • South Sudan experience highly desirable; • Minimum of a Master‘s degree in a related field; and • Fluency in English is required.
