Nature of Consultancy
Identify donors in Kenya who fund UK-based humanitarian partners with a focus on capacity building and training: RedR UK in Kenya is a new programme and is seeking a broad based funding platform for its midterm 18 -24 month strategy. The Kenya programme has already secured funding for 3-6 month for training security. The consultant will identify potential donors in Kenya that are likely to fund activities in the humanitarian sector related to training and capacity building that would be applicable to RedR UK activities.
Draft versions of a generic grant proposal: The consultant will draft a concept note and the generic sections for a funding proposal (e.g. Problem statement, assessment of needs, programme intervention, core elements of a Log Frame) that can be used as a template to apply for grant funding from identified donors.
Outputs
- A comprehensive and prioritised list of potential donors; their proposal formats and requirements, application deadlines and schedules for submission.
- Draft concept note
- Draft of a generic sections for a grant application on behalf of the RedR UK in Kenya. These should meet the requirements for the top 2 identified donors.
- Draft must be well developed anticipating submission to the identified donors

Costs
A total cost of USD 400.00 per day (exclusive of withholding tax which will be paid by RedR).
Duration of Contract
The contract will be for 5 days
Payment
Payment will be made by RedR UK after the contract period and the outputs have been delivered.
Reporting
The consultant shall report to the RedR UK Kenya Programme Manager.
Confidentiality
The consultant must observe absolute confidentiality towards non-authorised persons with regard to information he/she has become familiar with through undertaking the assignment covered by this contract.
Requirements for candidates
At least 3 years programme management experience (senior level position), 5 - 10 years humanitarian operational experience, experience of working with the major institutional donors in humanitarian sector.
