Background

The role
You will lead in regular monitoring of markets in the region as well as in Oxfam project areas in countries to capture trends and inform programme designs and regional/country strategies. Provide an integrated national, regional and global market analysis, to regional programme staff, SRMT & country management. Provide regional advisors & country programme teams with support in market analysis and identification of market support programming opportunities. Provide a link between OGBs Private Sector work and its wider Livelihoods & Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods (EFSL) Programmes.
What we're looking for
• A minimum of 5 years involvement in development & humanitarian response work of which at least 2 years must be spent on working on markets based programming, • Strong conceptual and practical understanding of socio-economic development & the role of markets in poverty reduction and conflict mitigation • Knowledge and understanding of the relevance of market analysis and support programming in the field, including the constraints, sensitivities and risks associated with such work
