Responsibilities: • Manage activities related to the AGOA trade expansion as well as reforms in Ethiopia’s trade infrastructure. • Provide technical and administrative support to the COP to promote exports and FDI (for example, support to streamline logistics along certain value chains to expand and improve Ethiopia’s exports). • Establish effective relationships with local, regional and foreign firms, associations, and government officials to increase participation of Ethiopian firms in U.S. market. • Build the capacity of Ethiopian organizations to provide trade related information and analysis to support export firms.
Qualifications: • Experience advising and supporting firms to participate in export markets. • Demonstrated knowledge of international trade show procedures, trade logistics, and AGOA terms. • Experience building firms’ capacity to use trade-related information for strategy development and better management practices. • A minimum of 10 years experience managing similar projects in areas such as trade expansion or finance plus a master’s degree in accounting or finance. • Experience with clusters and/or special economic zone development is desired. • Africa, particularly East Africa, experience highly desired. • English fluency, written and oral, required.
