Since 2002, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, CHAI (formerly the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative), has been assisting developing countries in implementing large-scale, integrated HIV care, treatment, and prevention programs. CHAI is currently active in Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and Eastern Europe. CHAI will apply the techniques it has used successfully to improve access to HIV/AIDS and malaria treatment in developing countries to essential vaccines. By scaling up the coverage of vaccines in developing countries to 90 percent - including the new vaccines for pentavalent and pneumococcal pneumonia – the death of over 7.6 million children could be averted over the next decade. CHAI Nigeria is currently seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to catalyze the transformation of the existing vaccine delivery system to improve the efficiency and speed with which life-saving pentavalent and pneumococcal vaccines are introduced and scaled-up in Nigeria. Nigeria is one of the focus countries where CHAI is working closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH). As part of this initiative, CHAI will support the MOH to effectively plan, execute and evaluate the introduction of the new vaccines, including core supply chain and logistics functions. |
