Salary: R685 200 per annum (all-inclusive package to be structured in accordance with the rules form SMS) (Level 13) (Ref. S8/3/2011/684)
Requirements: • Appropriate tertiary qualification and extensive administrative experience • Proven high-level managerial, organisational, logistic management, research and report writing skills, as well as understanding of Government processes and systems • Good communication skills • Good understanding of the functions of the Private Office of the Political Office Bearer environment would be an added advantage • Valid driver’s licence.
Duties: • Provide overall management and strategic leadership to the Ministerial Support Services and other units in the Ministry for Rural Development and Land Reform, as well as administration and content support to the Deputy Minister as requested • Be responsible for strategic planning, work management and resource management in the Ministry • Prepare briefing notes, comment on submissions and cabinet memoranda and perform general technical advisory functions • Provide strategic leadership with regard to communications efforts – especially regarding the message and choice of occasion – within the ambit of the Ministry for Rural Development and Land Reform • Co-ordinate the interaction between the Deputy Minister and organisational units falling under him, as well as form an important link of communication between the Deputy Minister and external clients • Monitor and follow through on Ministerial requests and instructions • Manage special projects as per the Deputy Minister’s request.
Note: Appointment is subject to a positive security clearance and the signing of a performance agreement. The successful candidate will be required to perform sessional duty in Pretoria and Cape Town.
