Accountant Assistant- Grants
Accountant Assistant- Grants will assist Senior Grants Manager to manage the corporate financial information system at Country Office in relation to grants budget processes, donor’s financial compliance, proper internal controls, financial management and financial reporting. Provide timely and reliable Management and donor financial reports. He/she to provide analysis that leads to effective decision making in Grants Acquisition, management and reporting.
Key End Results of Position:
• Ensure Cost Recovery through Time sheet (CAT 7) and Cost Apportionment are done on monthly basis timely.
• Prepare financial reports for project with no project accountants ensure the submission for review is done timely and submission to the donor.
• Ensure that all approved POs received from the PO point person are correctly linked in the SAP in a timely manner (to avoid delay of implementation & payments), with all grant account lines attached to the relevant GAD/FAD.
• Ensure Grants Data entry into SAP is recorded and reflected on timely manner
• Ensure Grants expenditure as per BI report is regularly reconciled with expenditure in the POs to uphold reliability and integrity of the figures. Trough monitor nrgrants related to the grants projects, running nrgrant report and sharing the same with all project accountants.
• Support Grants start up and Close out processes by ensuring project start up and close out issues related to grants/ Finance are sorted out and dealt with timely.
• Monitor movement and report on the impact of foreign exchange rates for Donor currency

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:
Knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of Grants and Management Accounting for preferably in Non-profit making organisation
• A degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
• CPA/ACCA or any other professional chartered course will be an added advantage
• Minimum of Two Years field Experience in a related position
