Co-Lead the Programme Management Team (together with the National Programme Coordinator), direct and oversee the day to day operations of the Programme.
Over-see operations of the Programme, ensuring that Programme resources are managed within the stipulated guidelines and contracts.
Planning, monitoring and reporting of Programme activities, achievements and expenditure.
Support in implementation of the NFP and especially in county level interventions.
Support in managing office equipment and resources.
Coordinate the timely preparation and submission of annual / quarterly work plans and budgets and present the same for approval to the relevant authorities (SC and/or SVB).
Prepare TORs for consultancies and studies, participate in evaluation of proposals and supervise contracts.
Assess potential service providers, develop service delivery models, select service providers as well as develop TORs and contractual arrangements.
Supervise the international and national Technical Assistance staff in all activities.
Guide and monitor the service delivery.
Ensure that cross-cutting themes of gender equality, reduction of inequalities and HRBA are mainstreamed throughout the Programme.
Close coordination and cooperation with key partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications required

MSc in forest management, forest economics, natural resources management or other relevant discipline. Fluency in both spoken and written English.
Professional experience required
Past experience in CTA or project manager position and result based management.
At least 10 years’ working experience relevant to the assignment.
Experience in implementation of national level forestry programmes & forestry devolution processes.
Experience in legal and policy advocacy skills and particular knowledge of forest policies.
Experience in setting up service provision models and PPPs.
Experience in private forestry and developing forest management standards.
Experience in working in developing countries, preferably East Africa.
Good knowledge of both Kenya and Finnish development policies (preferably).
