Position: Business Development Manager (Finance and Operations).
This position will report to the Technical Director of Agribusiness Innovation Centre (AIC). The overall objective of the position is assisting client firms in financial management and fundraising necessary for growth.

The position is more about providing assistance to external client companies supported by AIC in collaboration with other AIC team. The following are key responsibilities of the position.
1 . Assessment of the financial viability and associated due diligence process for prospective and existing client companies.
2.Financial planning for client companies to ensure adequate growth.
3.Implementation of financial management systems in client companies with associated training and support
4.Assistance in preparation of the financial accounts of client companies, including automation of clients financial management system
identification of financial management risks and deviations in client companies and mitigation therefore
6.Assist client companies in preparation of financials and business plans for presentation to prospective investors.
7.Provision of training and coaching activities to client companies.
8.Implement the Client Royalty Agreement, especially schedule 1 (scope of AIC activities for client accepted into AIC) .
9.Promotion, marketing and information dissemination about AIC to potential clients at meetings and other relevant forums.
10.Maintain contacts with financial institutions on client performance and obtain credit facilities,
11.Maintain contacts with PASS colleagues on Credit Guarantee Fund (CGF) and loan status of AIC clients
12.Identify shortcomings in agro-processing and come up with technical sound solutions
13.Liaise with external agencies and authorities (SIDO, TCCIA, processors associations etc.)
14.Perform other related duties when required and / or at the request of the AIC Director.

Education and Experience
1. A financial degree from a recognized academic institution and the accreditation to practice as an accountant in Tanzania.
2.Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and financial management in a small to medium company environment
3.Knowledge of business management, especially in SME companies
4.Experience of at least 5 years in a professional financial/accounting position with extensive decision making responsibility
5.Experience in assisting entrepreneurs and SMEs will be an advantage.
6.Willingness to work outside official working hours to meet deadlines and / or in crisis situations
7.Willingness to travel to and from client premises located outside the AIC and to other funders and stakeholders.
Terms of employment .
The Business Development Manager (Finance and Operations) will be employed on a three years' renewable contract; the renewal of the contract will be based on the performance. PASS offers competitive. remuneration package and the position is situated in Morogoro with field visits required to clients businesses within Tanzania.
A vehicle or alternative means of transport will be provided for official trips
