Our Client, the Global Green Growth Institute, is hiring a dynamic Senior Manager to spearhead their project work in Rwanda.
GGGI supports governments in developing a strong and comprehensive analytical framework on green growth, spanning from sector-by-sector analysis to the implementation of green growth plans (GGP). The scope is to provide them with the necessary tools to shift their growth model towards a more sustainable, low-carbon, climate resilient development path. GGGI operates tailored but consistent programmes for each country and assist partner countries in designing pragmatic policies best suited to their respective economic opportunities and constraints.
This position is part of the GGP&I Division, in Sub-Saharan Region. It will be two fold; you will be implementing the Rwanda Programme on the ground as a part of the Project team and you will be instrumental in preparing the programme and drafting the project documents on renewable energy potential for green growth in the East Africa Community (EAC).
Detailed responsibilities will include:
• Conducting project analysis and research
• Building robust working relationships with relevant Rwanda government officials
• Coordinating communications with key stakeholders
• Developing a strong capacity building component in the project
• Project managing each work stream and monitoring progress
• Drafting project documents and reports
In addition to exemplary and relevant academic credentials (ideally to Masters or PhD level), the successful individual will have an enviable career trajectory. You will also have:
• Substantial working knowledge of sustainable urban/spatial development, housing or architecture
• An understanding of renewable energy and energy efficiency
• Working knowledge of green growth and green economy
• Experience of living and working in (East) Africa
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, alongside strong synthesis and strategic thinking skills
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement, client relationship, and consensus building skills
• Project delivery experience, i.e. managing the delivery of results on time and on budget
• Experience of managing teams
