MBEYA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (MUST)
Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) is a product of Mbeya Technical College that was in operation since 1986 to 2005. On 1st April, 2005, the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania through the National Council for Technical Education Establishment Order of 2004. Also through section 9 of the National Council for Technical Education Act No. 6 of 1997, declared a transformation of Mbeya Technical College (MTC) into Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST). MIST provides Technical Education, Research and Consultancy services.
9.1 PROFESSOR – 1 POST - MECHANICAL ENGINEERING/ CIVIL ENGINEERING/ COMPUTER ENGINEERING / ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING / ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
9.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reviews methodology, content and quality of academic programmes for the purpose of improving quality of graduate;
• Teaches up to NTA LEVEL 10 (Doctorate Degree)
• Carries out special instructional activities requiring high degree of competence and technological expertise and experience;
• Participates in planning, development, controlling and running of the curriculum;
• Designs and oversees construction of research equipments;
• Assists students in building up their practical and research projects;
• Plans and designs training exercises for students;
• Conducts consultancy and community service jobs;
• Provides on the job training to junior staff;
• Supervises and guides postgraduate students and other members of staff;
• Carries – out and supervises research activities;
• Provides advisory services to the public;
• Prepares and publishes technical papers books in a respective field;
• Undertakes academic administration duties; and
• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
9.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• PhD in a relevant field eligible for technical teachers’ registration that has proven applicable working experience in research and consultancy of at least twenty (20) years in the industry of and has published at least fifteen (15) peer reviewed papers.

• Doctorate (PhD) degree in a relevant field and eligible to be registered as a technical teacher with experience in research for at least ten (10) years and must have published at least ten (10) peer reviewed papers;
• OR
• Doctorate (PhD) degree in a relevant field eligible to be registered as technical teacher with experience in research for at least twenty (20) years and must have published at least twenty (20) consultancy / research reports of academic and professional appreciable depth in a relevant field;

OR
• PhD in relevant field eligible for technical teachers’ registration and has a proven applicable working experience in research and consultancy of at least 10 years in the industry and has published at least five (5) consultancy / research reports of academic and professional appreciable depth in a relevant field;
OR
• Masters Degree in a relevant field who is eligible for registration as a technical teacher and has a proven applicable working experience in research and consultancy of at least 20 years in the industry and has published at least ten (10) consultancy / research reports of academic and professional appreciable depth in a relevant field;
OR
• PhD Degree in relevant field, who has proven applicable working experience of 10 years and has published at least five (5) consultancy / research reports of academic and professional appreciable depth in the relevant field.

9.9 JANITOR II – 1 POST
9.9.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• In charge of all rooms, stores and common rooms in a hall of residence
• Supervises hall attendants in his/her hall of residence.
• Enforces students’ rules and regulations.
• Answers questions from students, delegates and other visitors who may require certain information pertaining to his/her hall of residence.
• Maintains proper residence records.
• Ensures Security properly in and around the hall of residence
• Performs any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Diploma in Social work /Education /Home Economics / Community Development or equivalent qualification with at least 3 years experience in students’ affairs or related field.

9.8.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) or equivalent in a relevant field.
9.8.3 REMUNERATION

9.9 JANITOR II – 1 POST
9.9.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• In charge of all rooms, stores and common rooms in a hall of residence
• Supervises hall attendants in his/her hall of residence.
• Enforces students’ rules and regulations.
• Answers questions from students, delegates and other visitors who may require certain information pertaining to his/her hall of residence.
• Maintains proper residence records.
• Ensures Security properly in and around the hall of residence
• Performs any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
9.9.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Diploma in Social work /Education /Home Economics / Community Development or equivalent qualification with at least 3 years experience in students’ affairs or related field.
9.9.3 REMUNERATION
