The Engagement Manager is responsible for understanding customer requirements, putting together proposals and work orders. Engagement Manager is responsible for revenue forecasting and delivery of Engagements within client portfolio. Responsible for all engagement oriented negotiations, proposals, including contractual, fiscal, and scheduling. Held accountable for customer satisfaction, Partner satisfaction, backlog realisation for his/her projects, project profitability, and employee satisfaction in his/her projects. The Engagement Manager is accountable for ensuring all work done is compliant with corporate business policy.
Key Performance indicators:
Measured on Customer Satisfaction, Consultant Utilisation, Consultant Satisfaction, Billed Revenue and Engagement Profitability, Fiscal Forecasting.
The Engagement Manager is responsible for decision making regarding services opportunities, and delivering engagements including, setting customer bill rate, statement of work/contractual obligations for engagements while limiting risk assumed by Microsoft, approving staffing of projects, performance management for personnel on engagements, as well as decision making regarding client/partner relationships. Need Service Line Practice Manager involvement on issues regarding contractual value above approval levels, discounts above approval percentage, high project risk, and non standard contractual language or project financing.
Responsible for external client strategy during engagement execution. May be responsible for identifying appropriate service offerings for customers. Works closely with Services Executives in selling these offerings to customers.
This role has no direct people management responsibilities, but will be expected to mentor and manage the delivery of consultants and project managers on engagements.
The Engagement Manager is responsible for communicating within the project team, Microsoft and the industry vertical customer. Communicating with internal and external groups including legal, sales, product development, partners, and product support. These communications include negotiations with customer, partner and Microsoft personnel. Communications with customer generally at manager to director level.
The Engagement Manager is responsible for customer satisfaction, partner satisfaction for partners involved at his/her engagements, realization of backlog for his/her engagements, project profitability, and employee satisfaction for his/her engagements. Additionally responsible for approving all customer invoices, and accounts receivable for managed engagements.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years working experience in either consulting, client/project management, high-end professional services business development/delivery OR relevant management combined with a BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
Must have business development and delivery business management skills. Must have strong people management skills and be capable of leading staff. Should poses intermediate communication skills. Must have strong engagement and project management skills with the ability to drive the engagement lifecycle. Requires technical knowledge within his/her service line.
