BBC Arabic is the largest service within the BBC World Service, providing news and current affairs across multiple platforms to Arabic speaking audiences in the Middle East and beyond.
The news service currently has openings for broadcast journalists on its multimedia team in London.
Working as part of this multimedia team, journalists will liaise closely with other team members and with contributors, reporters and stringers to voice live and pre-recorded programs and edit packages. Other tasks include undertaking pre- and post production and studio work and using online production systems to produce content for BBCArabic.com.
Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of Middle Eastern and international current affairs, plus recent, relevant journalistic experience in a news environment. Journalists should have Arabic as a first (or equivalent) language and be fluent in English.
It’s essential that candidates can write and adapt material with clarity, originality, accuracy and appropriate style for different output streams. You’ll have a good knowledge of production techniques and be comfortable working in a busy production team.
