Area of activity
On behalf of the German Government, we support the Rwandan Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in the elaboration and implementation of sustainable and broad-based growth policies. The project ‘Macro-economic Advice’ focuses on providing advice and on capacity development in macroeconomic analysis and forecasting.

Your tasks
As Head of Project you will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing the advisory measures. This includes ensuring correct budgeting, monitoring project activities and reporting to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The advisory tasks include ensuring the consistency and plausibility of the macroeconomic framework on the basis of ‘financial programming’, a tool also used by IMF missions; improving capacity and work processes related to macroeconomic analysis and forecasting; ad hoc advice on specific aspects of economic policy and pro-poor growth strategies.

Your Qualification
(1) Degree in economics, (2) background in academia and research with a high level of expertise in the fields of economic analysis especially macro-economics, macro-economic modelling and other relevantmethods and instruments, reflected in respective publications, (3) experience in consultancy work in developing countries, (4) advisory competence and excellent written and oral communication skills, (5) English at negotiating level is essential, German and French would be an advantage. Ideally, we are looking for a person who likes to work hands-on in an intercultural team and can combine an empathetic and patient approach with the necessary degree of assertiveness to bring together diverging interests.
