As our new Head of Liquidity Management & Market Making, you will play a key role in generating, evaluating and making recommendations on Treasury business and ALM strategy to the Country Commercial Director. You will take full accountability and responsibility for the economic and profit performance of the Treasury in country.

In this unique role, you will lead the Treasury, Liquidity Management and Market Making functions. You will take ownership for ensuring that financial objectives are met through trading, that liquidity is in line with the policies and procedures of the Barclays group and for introducing new products into the Treasury portfolio. Derivatives will be a key product that Barclays Zimbabwe will be looking to introduce to the current Treasury portfolio.

Your strong background in these three key areas means that you will be able to ensure the effective management of all three, as well as ensuring the Treasury sales team is aligned to the Corporate team, in country. You will act as the ALM champion for Barclays Zimbabwe and will therefore play a key role in the effective management of the balance sheet and associated risks through value added strategies, working closely with the Country Commercial Director and other ALCO members.

Qualifications

With at least ten years experience in a Banking environment, you will possess at least three years experience in a Treasury function. You will have strong experience in Treasury trading and liquidity management, having traded on limitations and have a broad knowledge of Treasury products. Of particular interest will be a strong working knowledge of Derivatives. You will be a strong leader and be used to dealing with key stakeholders across a large business, and be used to negotiating at Executive level.
