Anesthetic Officers, Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI)

About this Job:	The Infectious Diseases Institute is engaged in working with the Ministry of Health and several districts in Uganda in strengthening health systems for improved delivery of HIV/AIDS and TB services. As an extension of this work IDI and its partners are considering using the same approach to strengthen health systems Maternal and Child Health services in two rural districts in Western Uganda. We are therefore looking for experienced, committed, and hardworking individuals prepared to work for a fixed one year contract in the health centers III and Health center IV and District hospitals under the guidance of the District Health team. It is anticipated that the contracts will be from November 2011 to October 2012. Anesthetic Officers/ Nurse(s) (8) We are seeking experienced anesthetic clinical, officers or nurses who are able to provide general anesthesia for obstetric emergencies in a Health center III and IV settings Provide general anesthesia to general patients as well as Obstetric patients in Health Center III, IV and District hospitals.
Requirement:	Completion of anesthetic training from a recognized education institution. Minimum of 3 years work experience in a busy clinical setting Experience in working in a District setting Knowledge of good nursing procedures and practices Ability for team work.
