The program is formulated around three broad thematic areas; Planning, Human Resource Development and Economic Policy; Public Expenditure Management and Accountability; Public-Private Sector and Civil Society + partnerships. (Fifteen) 15 institutions in Uganda receive this support.
The goal of Uganda Country Capacity Building Program is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the use of public resources’ to attain the objectives of national development priorities as contained in the National Development Plan thereby improving economic governance.
Uganda Country Capacity Building Program wishes to recruit a Program Secretary;

Reports to: Program Administrative Officer.
Major function or purpose
The purpose of the position of the Program Secretary in the Uganda Country Capacity Building Program (UCCBP) at National Planning Authority (NPA) is to provide reception and secretarial support services to the Program.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Receive and attend to all visitors and in-coming calls;
Receive, route and dispatch internal and external correspondences;
Organize meetings for program management, staff, governance bodies and in-coming missions in liaison with line Officers;
Draft minutes for staff meetings and routine correspondences;
Implement the program’s filing system by maintaining files in proper order for easy reference and retrieval;
Maintain a schedule for appointments and activities of the Program;
Requisition, handle requests for sundries and make accountability;
Provide secretarial support during workshops and other events organized by the Program;
Any other duties as assigned by the Capacity Building Expert.
Requirement:
Person Specifications/Qualifications and ExperienceThe applicant must have the following:
An Honors Degree in Secretarial Studies or Administrative and Secretarial Science or Office Information Management from a recognized university. Further training in general office management will be an added advantage.
At least 2 years’ working experience in secretarial, administrative or front office work in a project environment in a reputable private, civil society or public organization is required.
Terms of Employment The appointment is initially a one-year contract, which will be renewable based on confirmation after 6 months of probation, satisfactory delivery of outputs in the job’s result areas and availability of Program funds.
