Deputy to Chief of Security and Safety
Job Title: Deputy to Chief of Security and Safety (1 Position)
Reports to: Chief of Security and Safety
Job Purpose:
Deputizes the Chief of Security & Safety and directly fills in during his/her absence.
Duties:
• Liaises with client airlines, civil aviation authority, Police, Uganda Immigration authorities, Embassies and other security
agencies in the coordination of investigations; ensures that all security & safety incidents / accidents are investigated;
Carries out yearly review of security manuals, ensuring information is current and also ensures that all security staff understand and follow security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and communicate changes thereof;
Monitors security checklists issued to security supervisors to ensure prescribed standards are met and addresses any failures noted therein;
Manages attendance of all security staff and ensures optimal utilisation of manpower;
Organizes and chairs monthly security departmental and Trainer’s meetings;
Carries out quarterly security inspections/audits in accordance with the ISAGO requirements to ensure that prescribed standards are met;
Monitors serviceability of security equipment and reviews procurement requests;
Organizes staff performance appraisals exercises for all security staff, participates in the recruitment and training of security staff.
Requirement:
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Arts or related field; At least 5 years progressive experience in the field of security & Safety in a corporate environment, military or police at a level of supervisor; Qualification in Security/ Safety investigations is a must; Excellent knowledge of security management; Excellent communication skills; Knowledge of CCTV Surveillance systems and security screening equipment; Experience as Trainer in the security field; Excellent interpersonal skills; Conversant with computer especially MS Word
Job Title: Duty Manager (1 Position)
Reports to: Head Traffic & Maintenance Supervises: Load Controllers (Levels 1, 2 &3). Coordinates activities of Ramp Porters, Drivers, Mechanics, Aircraft Cleaners.
Job Purpose:
The Duty Manager coordinates all activities on ramp. S/he ensures timeliness and safety during ramp operations.
Specific tasks:
Verifies manpower availability with the Deployment Officer;
Checks for availability and serviceability of equipment with Driver Team Leader on duty;
Briefs with all airline officials of flights that will operate, to obtain information relating to passenger loads, cargo loads, and other relevant information;
Reviews manpower and equipment needs in light of the information above, in liaison with section heads from Cargo, Passenger services, Security.
Follows up and monitors ramp activities; ensures Turn around Coordinators are equipped with checklists to aid in supervision; liaises with other sections to solve any gaps in manpower and equipment;
Manages disruptions that may occur and affect turn around activities for instance technical breakdowns, electricity shortages and emergency sickness of staff e.t.c
Ensures client is given feedback as regards ramp activities;
Prepares equipment report and distributes to CEO, Head of Traffic and Maintenance and Workshop.
Plan for activities of incoming shift.
Requirement:
Minimum requirements:
Degree in Administration, Social Sciences, Education or equivalent.
At least two year’s experience in a mid-level supervisory position in any service industry; assertive and able to make quick rational decisions; excellent organization and communication skills; high level of prioritisation and initiative, Team player, Ability to work under pressure, Able to train junior staff on the job.
