Manager Capacity Building

At Oikocredit International based in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, we are currently looking for a Manager Capacity Building (36 hrs) Responsibilities The new colleague will be part of the Social Performance & Financial Analysis (SPFA) department. This department is headed by a Director (SPFA) and the other team members include a Manager Loan & Investment Risks, a Manager Social Performance and 5 Analysts and a Program Assistant. Capacity Building is closely related to social performance. Therefore the Manager Capacity Building will work closely with the Social Performance specialist and consult and cooperate in all cases where capacity building is related to social performance management The result areas of the job are: A. Strategic orientation Together with the Director, Manager Social Performance and Regional Offices, develop and implement international and regional capacity building strategies, plans and programs; Assist and contribute to the development and policy formulation of capacity building within Oikocredit; Explore emerging opportunities and develop new capacity building services and products that strengthen project partners in the implementation of their objectives; Seek external financial resources to help finance capacity building activities; Raise Oikocredit's profile as an international renowned service provider for project partners. B. Support to Regional Offices Assist in the development and review of regional or country-specific capacity building programs and budgets; Coordinate with regional staff responsible for capacity building in the implementation of approved capacity building programs and provide support and guidance when appropriate; Along with regional offices, follow up, evaluate and maintain contacts with project partners having received capacity building support; Facilitate exchange of learning and information relating to capacity building among regions. C. Management Develop indicators for the assessment of the effectiveness of capacity building interventions; Manage all capacity building related activities under the Oikocredit International Support Foundation (OISF); Report bi-annually on capacity building activities under the OISF to management and board of Oikocredit; Promote the OISF and the needs for capacity building for Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) and other project partners among members, foundations, governments and other donors; Report on implemented capacity building activities to donors; Ensure reporting by regional offices and/or project partners about capacity building interventions undertaken and results achieved; Develop and maintain relationships with other capacity building providers and strategic partners of Oikocredit D. Market development and external relations Identify, evaluate and recommend new capacity building activities for implementation; Maintain relations and cooperate with strategic partners of Oikocredit and other organisations active in the field of capacity building; Represent Oikocredit on conferences and other events related to the responsibility area of the position. E. Support to other ISO departments Support staff in the Department of Loans and Investments and Regional Offices on issues related to capacity building; Share results of capacity building interventions with Department of Investor Relations for communication purposes.

Functie-eisen

Education and experience Academic achievements preferably in the field of Economics, Microfinance and Business Administration/Finance; 8-10 years experience and knowledge of development projects, especially microfinance; Extensive knowledge of Southern hemisphere development projects; Strong managerial skills; Computer literacy; Thorough knowledge of English, and at least one of the following languages: Spanish and/or French.
