This position works closely with and is supervised by the Team Lead – HMBL (Eldoret and Kisumu). S/he also works closely with other members of the HMBL team and partner organizations in overseeing HMBL project activities in Nyanza.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement HMBL workshops and trainings in the region for leaders in Faith-based organizations (FBOs), Community-based Organizations (CBOs), Youth groups and other relevant stakeholders including celebrities.
- Work with Regional Recruiter at the Regional Blood Transfusion Center (RBTC) to facilitate blood donation drives in Nyanza
- In partnership with other implementers, facilitate HIV prevention forums with CBOs and FBOs in the region.
- Represent HWWK in meetings with RBTC and other partners and stakeholders.
- Prepare work plans and budgets for activities to be carried out in the region and report program expenditure in line with HWWK and CDC guidelines.
- Facilitate formation of Pledge 25 Clubs within CBOs and FBOs.
- Generate monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annual, progressive and annual program reports for the region within set deadlines.
- Oversee the program mobilization team on the ground.
QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum required academic and professional skills for the job holder to perform successfully in this position include:
- A Diploma from an accredited college (preferably in the social sciences or community development or related field). A higher diploma or University degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
- Additional training and demonstrated experience in Blood Safety and Blood donor recruitment will be required.
- At least two years working experience in Blood Donor Recruitment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Swahili)
- Demonstrated ability in event planning and facilitation.
- Demonstrated competence in MS Office Suite especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven leadership, communication, interpersonal, decision making and analytical skills.
- Ability to work and deliver results with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a multi-disciplinary team setting
