PERSON SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL Education, Qualifications & Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in public or community health and nutrition with knowledge of similar post-conflict contexts and multi-sectoral work experience • A minimum of 2 years international experience in the planning and implementation of community based interventions in health and/or nutrition • Proven training skills with good verbal and written communication • Familiarity with participatory learning approaches • Experience in the design, implementation and analysis of KAPB or participatory surveys • Experiences of developing/adapting training materials • Good community mobilization abilities • Good analytical and report writing skills • Good spoken and written English
DESIRABLE Education, Qualifications & Experience Required: Training in reproductive, maternal and child health; training on nutrition (CMAM), hygiene and sanitation and community health community. Ideally will have worked in post conflict transition scenario in an African context and have experience in capacity building of local community and health authority’s staff. Experience of working in isolated area in a multi-national/cultural environment; experience in the development of BCC Plans, IEC materials; capacity to identify training needs. Experience in developing monitoring and evaluation systems. Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements: A team player and team builder with strong organisational, interpersonal and communications skills. Understanding and sensitivity to cross cultural issues; ability to work and remain calm under pressure; good people development and motivation skills. Flexible and adaptable to changing environments. a commitment to working through systems of community participation and mobilization. Willingness to travel and live under basic conditions. Needs to have initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision Any Other Special Requirements: Good computer skills including analytical and graph drawing skills.
